Just when I thought I had nothing to post today, @Ilovetypography tweeted that Friday is the 80th birthday of director Jean-Luc Godard. In honor of Godard, Dutch design firm Atelier Carvalho Bernau designed a typeface based on the type used in the opening titles for "Made in USA" and "2 ou 3 Choses que Je Sais d'elle." As they say, Godard's typography-only titles and interstitial elements "are almost a self-sufficient entity, another character in the movie, another comment." The face is beautiful, and even better, its free. Just make sure you read and abide by the terms in the license. C'est magnifique.
