say uncle

One of my favorite places to eat here in Manhattan Beach is a place I really don't go to very often - for some reason I seem to just not think of it except when I have a friend visiting. So while my friend Mike was visiting, we went down to Uncle Bill's pancake house. Uncle Bill's is no hidden gem. Its pretty popular, so if you go in the morning, expect a long wait (or so I hear - if you know me, you know that I've never made it there in the morning!). And for the record, I've rarely had too much of a wait in the early afternoon. (Bill's closes at 3pm) Bill's, naturally, is known for their pancakes. And they are some of the best around (I recommend the Cinnamon Apple); but I also suggest checking out 'Mitch's Scramble' - eggs with cream cheese and jalapenos (try adding chicken to it). It's excellent. I don't know how long Uncle Bill's has been around, but its a mainstay in Manhattan Beach. Half of the seating is outdoors, which is perfect while looking out at the ocean, though be warned you might also roast out there. Inside is casual and comfortable too. If you go, expect the wait. But its worth it.
