a warm up

After a month of seriously cold winter in PyeongChang, I hopped on a plane for some Summer days in Australia. I'm in Sydney and the three days I've been here already are honestly pretty much a total blur. I'm finally only now starting to pull out of the backwards sleep schedule I was in from working overnights the last month.  I pretty much just slept the first half of the day that I got here, though that kind of decompression is pretty much the norm after an Olympics. Luckily I made plans with three different friends who live here each of the past three nights, including a reunion with my favorite Canadian (who now lives here), so I wasn't able to completely hibernate and have gotten plenty of out and about time (at least in the evenings.) I lucked into a pretty fabulous apartment with a view of the Opera House and walking through all the neighborhoods here is a visual feast. Plus Sydney's Mardi Gras parade is tomorrow so the town is pretty much exploding with anticipation. I better finish writing this and get out there myself…
