in the sticks

I spent the day in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Yeah, middle of nowhere, but it was a great day. I wanted to catch up with my friend Curt from Pittsburgh, so we picked here as sort of a midway point. It turns out that the small town with limited internet access and cell phone reception was a much needed respite. We wandered around the town built around warm mineral springs (still active), dipped our hands in George Washington's bathtub (really) and just enjoyed the relaxed town and friendly people in the shops and restaurants. After growing up across the border in Virginia (and Virginians are always quick to point out the border), I'm beginning to have a new found respect for West Virginia.
