about last night
Last night was a great night. I unknowingly took my friend Jim to his first major league baseball game, and my first Dodger game of the year also happened to be when they broke the baseball record for the most consecutive wins at home to start a season. That all changed today, of course, but for the sake of the joy of last night, we'll not mention that - this is about last night. For being so cold at the beach, it was unusually warm in Chavez Ravine - a perfect night for a baseball game. This was the kind of warm breezy summer night I miss from my Texas years - something rare in California. The crowd was into it and clearly knew the significance of the game. The night really couldn't have been any better. But of course full hearts are the most easily broken.
