keep on truckin'
Another Tuesday, another fix for my food truck addiction at the new LAX Food Truck lot. The crowd was much smaller this week, but that's probably to be expected after all the excitement and publicity that led up to the first week (that or maybe people were driving around Century City looking for the "Century Truck Lot" as they keep calling it). I finally got to try one of the trucks I've always wanted to try the most - the @grlldcheesetruk was there today, and the line was fairly short, so I went for their signature item: the cheesy mac n rib - a grilled cheese with mac n cheese and ribmeat inside. It was - well, it was fine. It wasn't bad, but I have to admit that it was kinda bland and tasteless. I gotta think it musta just been a bad batch or something, so I'm sure to give em another try. (I mean how can I resist grilled cheese?!) To counter that experience, I also sampled the @indiajonesCT (Chow Truck). I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo Curry, but they said they only had enough left for a partial order, so I ended up with a combo of that and their Butter Chicken Curry. Both were really full of flavor, with the spice of the lamb and the richness of the chicken an unexpectedly nice compliment to each other. Just another bonus to the truck lot: always more options if your first choice doesn't pan out.
