notable: heated towel racks

Most of the hotels I stayed in across Europe and even the Media Village had heated towel racks like these in the bathrooms. Chalk this into the 'why don't we have these?' category. They seem to basically be similar to radiators that carry a small amount of heat (they were never painfully hot to the touch) and made for a nice warm towel when you stepped out of the shower. Now, many places seemed to place them on the opposite sides of the room as the shower, so I did wonder if maybe they were for something else (don't get me started on the bidet). Regardless, they made for a nice luxury.
