beach chic

Beach houses always have their own certain style - not beach houses like where I live, but beach houses that are vacation houses - like here on the Outer Banks of NC or vacation beach towns across America. Maybe its because they are only vacation houses, so they get the secondhand leftover remnants, or maybe its just to ensure that the beach houses are casual and comfortable so coming home sandy and sweaty doesn't really matter. There's nothing good about beach chic from a design standpoint, but I have to say I do like it when a beach house is that way... I guess comfortable is good. Even if its hard to look at.
