honest
Last week while visiting my sister in Baltimore, we went out to her cabin about an hour outside of town (which I think is actually Pennsylvania). We stopped by one of her usual stops when she goes out there - a little roadside barn at the edge of an Amish farm. Its an honor system store - a refrigerator holds milk, cheeses, eggs; and the area has stands of plants. You pick what you want, and place your money in the slot. There's even a basket of coins if you need to make change. All based on honesty. I guess it doesn't say good things about the world that I should be so surprised by this kind of set up, but I do like knowing that places like this still exist.
