flavor

We have to run to todays game, so I'll just give a quick taste of our Saturday... which is pretty much what Saturday was all about... We stumbled on two street fairs (plantains and sweet potato pie) before taking the subway out to Coney Island (Nathan's hot dogs). I didn't even realize Coney Island was still around, so it was an exciting discovery to me (though apparently much of it is threatened by coming condos). The Cyclone coaster being literally right on the corner of two streets with traffic and tenement buildings and elevated trains next to it was kind of surreal. If there's anything New York doesn't lack, its flavor - in every sense of the word.
