KTLA wanted a news topical graphics package that would bridge their old traditional newscast look with a more modern approach. Based on the square shape of their logo, the animation creates energy and urgency with staccato rhythm, with clean minimal layouts that enhance a focus on local scenics. The extreme minimalism of the compositions allows for easy legibility despite the rapid fire pacing, with all elements reinforcing time and date. The package includes color ways for both morning news and evening newscasts, as well as elements for special report promos.
