▸ VIDEO | XXIII OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES | NBC SPORTS & OLYMPICS
A series of broadcast bumpers, rejoins, and other elements for NBC’s coverage of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, created on-site in South Korea as part of the NBC Olympics design team. Built from the visual language of NBC’s overall Olympic package, the pieces pair athlete imagery with a restrained graphic approach that allows the footage to drive the storytelling. Moments of preparation, personality, and competition are framed by bold color, typography, texture, and pattern elements used sparingly to create rhythm and continuity. A recurring pinwheel-style transition provides a visual thread throughout the pieces. Overall look and concept designed in-house by Art Director Dave Barton; team led by Phil Paully, Art Director John Schleef and SVP Mark Levy.
