what a weekend, part 1

This weekend was a whirlwind of fun. My friend Myron from Dallas was here back in June and we went to a Dodger game during that weekend. Because he had bought those tickets, he ended up in the email lottery to buy Dodgers NLCS tickets. Even better, he got them. So he surprised me with a visit to go to the game, plus we had my annual birthday beach pub crawl on bikes on Sunday (more on that later.) My friend Andrew joined us Saturday and we made an early start of it by grabbing a Lyft to downtown, having some beers at Wurstküche, and the walking up to Union Station to catch the shuttle to Dodger Stadium. Our tickets were way up in the top of the stadium, but we didn't care. It was fun just being there and the whole stadium was rocking like I'd never seen before. (Back when I used to go to the World Series every year, I always wondered whether LA could show that level of enthusiasm if it ever came to LA. Now I know.) After the game, we stopped downtown for some doner at Spitz, but then were ready to call it a night. It had been a long day, especially for Myron who had flown in early after having his flight cancelled the night before. Besides, we still had Day 2 ahead of us…
